While most things never changed, my basics have. I can now be found in Eastern Kansas, half a continent away from the ocean, hundred of miles from mountain ranges, and now equidistant from many family members. My surroundings now include flat land, farm animals, and less traffic.
I can’t complain. I’ve gained a boyfriend who has taught me many valuable lessons, a sorta-step-daughter, two pups, a motorcycle, many friends, medical insurance and a steady job. The change in scenery and my personal upgrades have balanced out nicely.
